who was the radical abolition who tried to start a slave revolt in harpers ferry, Virginia

Answer

This was John Brown.
John Brown was an abolitionist who led a group of twenty one men in a raid in Harper's Ferry in the state of Virginia, as he was hoping for a slave uprising in the states in the South.
However, this was unsuccessful as one of the men they captured told them he could do nothing for them, but then notified residents in neighboring towns, who quickly caught Brown and his men.
Many of the men were killed by the army and Brown was tried for treason.
