cindy purchased the following items.

2 shirts that cost $15.00 each.
1 jacket that cost $ 28.00.
she paid 4.5% sales tax on her purchase.
What was the total amount she spent on this purchase including sales tax?
(A) $55.39,
(B) $58.00 ,
(C) $60.61,
(D) $44.94..

Answer

The answer to this question is letter C.
) $60.61.
I got the answer by first adding the total costs of the item.
It cost $15 per shirt.
Since there are two that she bought, then 15 x 2= $30.
The total cost of the shirts is $30.
She also bought a jacket worth $28.
So add 30 and 28 and you will have 58 which is the total cost of all the clothes.
After that, we multiply 58 to the sales tax which is 4.5%.
So 58 x 0.045 is equal to $2.61.
So we add 2.61 to 58 and we will end up with $60.61.
