Is Cadence how do you identify maj or min key?

and how can you tell if its perfect plagal or imperfect!?

Answer

No, a cadence is the chord progression at the end or mid-point of a piece of music.
A perfect cadence is chords V-I (5 to 1) and sounds as if the piece has finished.
A plagal cadence is chords IV-I (4 to 1) and sounds like the word "amen" and is generally used at the end of hymns.
An imperfect cadence is chords anything-V (any chord (often I or 1) to 5) and will sound unfinished as if the piece is about to carry on.
Hope this helps :)
